1940s map showing the 40 acres homesteads for the Hyatts There were 6 Hyatt boys, 2 homesteaded with the father from 1887 one up to 1922.

Storm Mountain road. Mine tailings are visible from the road at right-hand center. Mica was mined from the pit mine as well as the berillium from the bore mine.

There are no sign of large doors that would indicate these structures were barns. Probably food storage.

Hiatts raised buffalo on this ranch up until the 1950s

Edgar Hiatt and brothers would hunt mountain lions for the bounty.

There are many old roads to hike along. Get a topo map, Glen Haven quadrant

Combat Rock was used for training of troops in WW2.

Snoopy is the rock to the right - for beginners.
